Former WWE Champion Kurt Angle teased a return to wrestling on his Instagram page. While a return to WWE is unlikely, Angle might be the surprise debutante at AEW Revolution. His WWE contract ended in April, but we will reveal details of a new contract he was offered.

Kurt Angle wrestled his last match in WWE at WrestleMania 35. He and Baron Corbin wrestled a disappointing match, one unworthy of being Angle’s career-ending match. Later, WWE released Angle as a part of the pandemic budget cuts, but he made one more appearance.

After Angle played the special guest referee for Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher’s Fight Pit match in NXT, Triple H offered him a new contract. On his podcast, Angle talked about the final three offers WWE put in front of him, which he eventually turned down.

“They offered me to coach in NXT, they offered me a job to manage Matt Riddle, they offered me a Legends contract. I turned down all 3 because of my new company Physically Fit Nutrition.”

Angle’s company, Physically Fit, is a place to purchase the highest quality better-for-you protein snack nutrition. The company and its products have been endorsed by the likes of Randy Orton, Rob Van Dam, Zelina Vega, Elias and even comedian Gabriel Iglesias.

Angle seems done with the WWE, and by rejecting Triple H’s offer in September 2020, he ended his relationship with the company. Now, Kurt might get a career revival if he ends up debuting at AEW Revolution.

What role will he play in AEW?

Upon returning to the WWE, Kurt Angle wrestled many high-profile matches. His first match since returning came alongside the Shield in a 5 on 3 handicap match against Braun Strowman, The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro and Kane.

He put on a decent performance, but his best match since returning came at WrestleMania 34 alongside Ronda Rousey against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

If Angle can put on performances on par with the WrestleMania 34 match, we will see the rebirth of wrestling’s finest talent. Even in his fifties, Angle has proven to be a beast in the ring. He can still toss people with German suplexes and make them tap out to the Ankle Lock.

Apart from wrestling, Angle will be of great help to AEW backstage or as a manager. He can join the likes of MVP, Jake Roberts, Tully Blanchard, Paul Heyman and Don Callis as the greatest wrestling managers currently.
