Fans Mourn a “Sad Day in Wrestling” as WWE Legend Passes Away

The wrestling world bid farewell to another legend in the industry who left the world merely a few hours ago. The former wrestler in question is the WWE and WCW legend Michael Jones, popularly known as Virgil. Born on June 13, 1962, Virgil eventually joined the wrestling industry and went on to become one of the most well-recognized athletes and worked for companies like WWE, WCW, and AEW.

Unfortunately, we won’t be hearing much about the legend anymore as he took his last breath on 28th February 2024, leaving the world behind forever.

WWE legend has had several complications in the past

Jones passed away merely a few hours ago. So, naturally, not much information has been revealed about his demise as of yet. However, a friend of his and a co-talent in the wrestling industry broke the news of his death to the rest of the world. Referee Mark Charles III announced via a Facebook post that the former WWE star is with us no more.

Charles also revealed, “Virgil passed peacefully at the hospital this morning and I ask that you pray for him and for his family. May his memory be eternal!”

The referee informed the public that ‘Soul Train Jones’ was at the hospital when this incident happened. For a minor background check, let us recall that the legend suffered two heart strokes in 2022 as well. Moreover, he was diagnosed with dementia as well. Earlier the same year, Virgil was diagnosed with stage II colon cancer.

While there are no revelations about the cause of his demise, the same can either be blamed on his heart or cancer, but his dementia can’t be overlooked either. We only know that he passed away peacefully without much struggle at the time of his death.
