There are a lot of standout female wrestlers who etched their legacy in the business even in the not-so-women-friendly age of wrestling. In the early 2000s, one such name was WCW’s Daffney. She was the second-ever female wrestler to hold the prestigious Cruiserweight Championship. She also smote fans by bringing her talent to Impact Wrestling and making quite a name for herself there as well.

However, things didn’t go that well for her for long. The prized star fell victim to severe mental health issues, and it finally culminated in an extreme loss. With a history of bipolar disorder and head trauma, Daffney died by suicide in 2021. Her sudden death left the WWE Universe in a state of shock that it is yet to recover from.

Two years later, Daffney’s former tag teammate, Crowbar, again brought the memory to the surface. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the former WWE wrestler posted a picture of himself with Daffney, in remembering her on her death anniversary.

The post caused fans to do so as well, remembering their favorite Daffney moments, while also offering their condolences.

Remembering the tragic death of Daffney

The Scream Queen quickly rose to fame as the obsessed kayfabe girlfriend of David Flair. Later on, Crowbar joined the tag team and produced some magic alongside Daffney and Flair. Fans simply adored their chemistry on the screen and couldn’t really get out of that glorious time.

Daffney’s acting background helped in nailing her characters under the ring. It was so flawless that it seemed like she flaunted her real personality, not going by the script.

Fans had a flashback to the gut-wrenching memory of Daffney’s death.

Fans still keep her on the throne of the Queen.

Some of them also empathize with Crowbar’s feeling of bearing the loss of a close friend and peer.
