Fame and fortune is something that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson knows well. With all the good, he takes on the bad and stands tall with a net worth of $800 million today. Despite the charming personality and a slew of box office hits, even The Rock is not spared by internet trolls. But how does The Great One find the right balance?

Fame is something that eluded The Rock no matter what he tried. When he debuted as a wrestler, he was hated. When he started in movies, it was panned. Despite the failures, he found a way of building a successful career.

The Rock talks about fame, anchors, and humility

Johnson is known to be a treasure trove of brilliant, motivational information. As a fitness freak and someone who has faced several hurdles in life, he knows what he’s talking about. He occasionally posts videos where he addresses fan questions on X or Instagram. Over the weekend, he uploaded a video talking about fame and its drawbacks.

“Fame is tricky and hard to balance and control,” the caption for the video read out. He claimed that he had been asked this question regarding fame multiple times. The Rock spoke about how you need to be grounded to understand how to navigate fame. Being someone who worked his way toward where he is today, he drew from his own experiences while answering the question.

“Anchors and perspective is always important,” Johnson added. He explained in the video how his humble beginnings made him who he is. The Rock touched upon not being able to pay rent or being able to understand himself. This was during the time he was struggling in life. This gave him perspective, which comes in handy to this day.

Lastly, The Rock said, “Humility and kindness matters.” Johnson has always been someone who promoted being kind and humble. He is considered one of the most humble actors in Hollywood and within the WWE. There aren’t that many people who have ever come forward and claimed The Rock did them wrong. However, the same cannot be said about internet trolls.

Internet trolls find ways to target The Rock

Like most celebrities, The Rock gets trolled by fans and haters. Sometimes, it can be lighthearted, while other times, it can be straight-up mean. In 2021, there was a series called ‘Young Rock’ on NBC. It was a sitcom based on the life of Johnson. Despite good reviews, the internet trolls roasted the casting online. The same happened when Johnson was missing from the Fast and Furious X trailer.

Many fans of the movie franchise and Johnson himself know about the beef between him and actor Vin Diesel. Johnson joined the cast in the fifth movie, but soon, the bitterness between Diesel and Johnson grew. He left the franchise to star in the spin-off movie Hobbs and Shaw. Despite the bitterness, Diesel reached out publicly to Johnson to return to the franchise. However, The Rock did not like this approach and responded back. This was the opportunity internet trolls needed to go after Johnson again.
