Athletes like John Cena leave a lasting mark on fans of the growing generation. This character and presentation had such a powerful effect on the viewers for years to come. In an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports, Rob Kligman from the Anthem Sports Group talked about how this is one of the most intriguing traits that set WWE apart from its competitors.

The Chief Revenue Officer from Impact Wrestling’s parent company recently sat down in an interview with our host Trey Holder. He then credited current-generation stars like John Cena and Roman Reigns for booming WWE’s business.

Over the years, WWE grew to become the leading wrestling promotion. Many factors contributed to the wrestling company’s growth, including the brand value it had created for itself in the market. This is why other companies, including Impact Wrestling, have been enthusiastic about collaborating with them. Talking about the same topic in an upcoming interview from the EssentiallySports Think Tank, the CRO said, “All the way to the present day with John Cena and Roman Reigns. People consistently talk about those characters, and WWE has a power of 35-40 years of historical characters that they’ve created that when you talk about them.

 

The former WWE employee is also among the people who want to partner up with WWE, resulting in various WWE-TNA cross-appearances. Kligman also has an end goal for these collaborations in mind while moving ahead into the future, and given his relationship with the Stamford-based company, his observation about WWE is as credible as it gets.

While Roman Reigns’ tenure with the promotion is not yet over, John Cena is planning to take a leave soon.

After building himself from the ground up in WWE, The Cenation Leader is now looking to hang up his wrestling gear. He announced his retirement at Money in the Bank 2024 in Toronto. This heartbreak doesn’t set in immediately as he also revealed that his last match will take place at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas next year. Some fans have since been trying to guess who could be the last opponent that will guide his wrestling career into the sunset while others are wondering about his future.

Although John Cena seems pretty adamant about his stand when making this decision. During the post-show media coverage, he revealed that there will be no surprise action sequences for him in WWE after Mania 41. So, we are nearing the end of a wrestling legend’s career. After this, there is a possibility that he could follow in the footsteps of another co-star and join the TKO board of directors.
