John Cena was the face of WWE for nearly a decade. He became a star in the Ruthless Aggression era in the mid-2000s and led the company through the PG era. During this time, he headlined many pay-per-views, wrestled almost every week on TV and traveled around the world with WWE. Being on the road with WWE comes with its own challenges. A former WWE superstar revealed how Cena had constant food poisoning during his early stages with the promotion.
Cena is well known as someone who takes great care of his body and trains hard in the gym. Being healthy for a WWE star also means maintaining a clean eating habit. Former WWE tag team champion René Duprée recently talked about how Cena suffered from the worst cases of food poisoning on tours and there is a good enough reason for that.

Rene Dupree explained why John Cena got food poisoning constantly on tours
John Cena gave some of his best years to WWE and put in immense hard work for the company. After the departure of the stars from the Attitude Era, WWE placed Cena as the face of the company. Cena carried that mantle with aplomb and wrestled his heart out for WWE. As a top star, he also had to take good care of his health, including his eating habits, so as to not disrupt any plans the company had for him over the years.
However, according to René Duprée, Cena encountered pretty bad cases of food poisoning while on WWE tours. Dupree shared the locker room with Cena for almost four years before his release in 2007. On his Cafe de Rene podcast, he said that the Doctor of Thuganomics suffered from food poisoning on tours in the mid-2000s. Dupree also stated why that may have been the case.
