Dwayne Johnson has undoubtedly given his fans several notable films during his Hollywood career. Despite the credibility that he holds as an actor and a producer, Black Adam didn’t sit right with fans. There were several factors contributing to the failure that the movie turned out to be. Although there are viewers who would have liked the project, the stats are far from deeming it a success.

Several reasons behind this failure range vastly from marketing strategies to fan burnout. According to movie critics, the plot and poor character development also played a role in hampering the movie’s box office collection. Dwyane Johnson’s excitement ruined the surprise for fans

According to The Rock, he was fighting the studio executives and other officials for 15 years to bring this movie to life, with the movie in development hell since the early 2000s. However, the excitement was one of the things that cost the movie millions in losses at the box office.

Ever since Justice League, DCEU fans had received devastating news about Henry Cavill not returning for his role as Superman. Johnson was able to work out the differences between Cavill and the studio to get him back in the cinematic universe. However, this led to the film being revealed sooner than it was intended, though Johnson tried to feature it as a selling point. However, the opposite ended up happening and fans did not want to watch Black Adam as they thought it might revolve around Superman.

Moreover, due to the internal disputes over at Warner Brothers Studios, DCEU’s fate was undecided. This ended up burning out several fans who had their hopes up. As a result, by the time Johnson’s DCEU debut happened, there were not as many ecstatic viewers available.

To top it all off, the marketing for the movie was also criticized and the ever-shifting release date didn’t help the fanbase either.

Even though Johnson’s Hollywood projects have pretty much been on hold since Black Adam, he will soon be back with more entertainment, hopefully profiting from the market this time around.

The WGA strike in Hollywood led to several projects piling up. So, this means that fans should brace themselves for a number of movies waiting to be produced and released for everyone to enjoy. To start off the list, The Brahma Bull will feature in a Christmas-themed movie called Red One which was initially planned to be released around Christmas in 2023.

Even though the movie may have to get delayed, the people who would enjoy the action-comedy featuring the former wrestler can re-indulge themselves in the sequel that is also planned to be released eventually. Johnson has 8 more projects to capture your attention in the future and make up for the failure that Black Adam proved to be for its fans and producers.
