WWE is often associated with Esports. Several WWE Superstars are involved in the Esports scene, with stars such as Xavier Woods, Ronda Rousey, along with former star, Paige, being directly involved in Esports alongside being an active part of the WWE roster.

Rob Kligman, the former VP of All Sponsorship sales of WWE, recently, sat with ‘The Essentially Rasslin Podcast,’ the exclusive wrestling podcast of Essentiallysports. Kligman opened up about WWE and its connection with Esports. He also spoke on Dr Disrespect starting out as a WWE star. Notably, he is currently serving as the VP of Marketing Operations at G Fuel.

Former WWE VP made a bold comparison between Dr Disrespect and The Undertaker

Speaking on the podcast, Kligman, talked about the special interaction between The Undertaker, and Dr Disrespect. He also felt that the latter was a huge hit among wrestling and gaming fans alike.

Kligman continued, “The idea here was hopefully get the foundation built that Dr Disrespect could eventually find his way into WrestleMania or into WWE. When you take a step back and look at Dr Disrespect, he is a character. He is exactly what The Undertaker is, just in a different mould.”

The current VP of G Fuel, added, “He is 6ft 7in, he’s got his moustache on, he’s got his hair, he’s got glasses, his whole getup is WWE. So, when we went to Vince McMahon, pitched this idea, this idea was an easy green lit opportunity because it just fit perfectly.”

Dr Disrespect is one of the most popular Esports player, while The Undertaker is a WWE Legend, and putting them together was a master stroke. This may prove to be an essential way to introduce Dr Disrespect into the WWE Scene.

Meanwhile, Ronda Rousey, while speaking on the Baddest Stream on YouTube show, said, “(The Tombstone Piledriver is) such a dangerous move, nobody else is allowed to do it. It’s basically a retired move.” The move piledriver and its different variations have already been banned in WWE. Albeit, according to Ronda Rousey, even The Undertaker’s version is now banned.
