Did Bray Wyatt's dark influence on Erick Rowan make the Wyatt Family the most sinister faction in WWE?

Uncle Howdy‘s Wyatt Sicks showed up again on Monday Night Raw 07/15. Before their arrival, the production crew played out the VHS tape that was delivered to Pat McAfee during his live show earlier that evening. As always, it contained an interview, but this time around, the interviewee was not Bo Dallas but Erick Rowan instead. For those who missed the segment, an account on ‘X’ posted an entire thread, listing different highlights of the promo. So, if you were among the fans who did not catch up with the emotional and cinematic segment, here is a breakdown of the same.

The tape kicked off in the usual creepy and vintage manner, but this time around, fans spotted Erick Rowan sitting in a chair instead of Bo Dallas. This was teased by the Wyatt Sicks stable even before the tape was received by Pat McAfee. He went on to talk his heart about how he lost his ‘brothers’ from The Wyatt Family. Both Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt eventually took their last breaths, leaving Rowan as the only one left alive from The Wyatt Family Stable.

This took a toll on the wrestler as he had to move on from the unfortunate events, thinking that the world might forget him after this. But he revealed that all he needed was hope while looking at his old lamb mask. He also revealed how Uncle Howdy pulled him out of the deep well of despair.

He ended the tape with a philosophical thought that has already been introduced to the WWE world through the Archives Recovered page. The philosophy mentioned on the page finally makes sense to the fans now.

Uncle Howdy believes in broken things

The ending of the VHS promo may have helped most of the fans connect the dots to the past teasers regarding the Wyatt Sicks. When WWE created the Archives Recovered page for the debuting stable, the headline of the page read “Kintsugi”. This word refers to Japanese art that believes in the philosophy of not discarding any pottery that is broken. Instead, people are encouraged to mend the broken areas with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. So, it turns out that Uncle Howdy may have a strong belief in the same.

Did Bray Wyatt's dark influence on Erick Rowan make the Wyatt Family the most sinister faction in WWE?

Have an interesting take?

Now that Erick Rowan has been ‘rescued’ by the supernatural entity, he is also influenced by his thoughts and philosophy. This is probably why the ex-Wyatt Family member ended the VHS tape by saying, “We’re gonna take our broken hearts and make some beautiful art.” This was a homage to the Japanese art philosophy of Kintsuge and also a beautiful way to wrap up the segment.
