While there are many aspects to wrestling, there is one that often gets sidelined by the fans. That is the writers. While creative heads like Triple H and Vince McMahon call all the shots in WWE, it’s the writers who approach stars and present them with interesting storylines. A good relationship between the star and their writer can lead to magic in the ring.
Nevertheless, the working situation of writers is dire with the constant pressure and deadlines hounding them. Nevertheless, in America, there is an immediate need to address the writers’ situation in Hollywood. They are out and about, striking to make the producers meet their demands. While the WWE writers aren’t the ones involved, this WWE legend thinks that the strike could affect the wrestling promotion.

WWE legend talks about the Writers Guild of America’s strike affecting WWE
In the latest episode of his podcast, Strictly Business, Eric Bischoff talks about everything related to wrestling in the world. Whether it is AEW’s Tony Khan making a tweet to accuse Nick Khan or his time in WWE during the draft season. But one thing that no one thinks affects wrestling in the slightest is the ongoing strike by the Writers Guild of America.

About the situation, Bischoff said, “The writers for WWE are non-union. True but Endeavor represents a lot of union writers, directors, camera operators, and production teams. If it (the strike) gets ugly, even though WWE writers are non-union writers, you could see a scenario where other unions begin to galvanize… to start putting pressure on, that could affect WWE.”

To give a better picture, Bischoff gives the example that if a WWE show takes place in a stadium like Madison Square Garden, which is a union hotspot, then the other unions could come together to support each other.
Because Endeavor has writers and directors in these unions, it could be bad for the prestige wrestling promotion. But he also added that if the strike is only for a month or two, then nothing will shake. But if it continues for 8 to 10 months, it will get pretty bad.

In Hollywood, after the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers ended their contract with the Writers Guild of America, the writers went on strike. The writers did this as the alliance did not meet their demands in the negotiation between the two parties. With the former WWE writer saying that the conditions in the company need to change, the Stamford-based company could see the effects of this strike in the future.
