Goldberg had already achieved superstardom before he joined the WWE. During his tenure with WCW, he became one of the top wrestling names in the world.
The WCW legend won numerous titles and had a winning streak that will probably go down in history books as one of the greatest streaks ever in professional wrestling.
However, while Goldberg wrestled in WCW during the late 1990s, WWE gave Duane Gill the gimmick “Gillberg”. This Gillberg gimmick was a parody of Goldberg and parodied many aspects of Goldberg, including his entrance.

But unlike Goldberg, Gillberg faced defeat in almost every match. His only win came against Goldust on Raw in February 1999. Prior to the Royal Rumble PPV in 1999, Gillberg was also defeated by Luna Vachon.
Gill as Gillberg doing the Goldberg spoof brought various reactions in the pro wrestling world. But recently, in an episode of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff revealed how he and Goldberg reacted to this spoof.
Eric Bischoff revealed he thought it was funny. He said, “I thought it was funny. If it’s a competitor, and it can make me laugh, I like it. Bill [Goldberg] didn’t feel that way. Bill [Goldberg] was hot.”
“I think I read something a couple of weeks ago, might have been an interview that Bill [Goldberg] did or somebody. It was something about Bill [Goldberg] finally over the Gillberg thing. It took him a long time. I think that’s true,” Eric added.
