Tony Khan often tends to receive criticism of the way he handles AEW. Most of the bashes that he receives come from Eric Bischoff and he has more to say about his virtual rival. While talking about the CEO of AEW on his podcast, Bischoff added to his opinion on how Khan is not doing a good job managing his wrestling promotion.
This time around, the WWE legend called out his ‘nemesis’ because of the way he portrays his company, resulting in fans often bashing AEW around in a negative light. According to Bischoff, Tony Khan is to be blamed for the same.

Before managing superstars like Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman also had a promotion of his own. Although the main crux of running a promotion parallel to WWE was to get ahead of them, The Wise Man still considered himself an ‘underdog’ and used it to his strength.
Eric Bischoff believes that this is why ECW was doing better against WWE than AEW can. During a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff said, “Lesson to be learned, Tony Khan, embrace being the underdog. Quit taking shots at the big dog on the neighborhood because you’re never gonna beat the big dog.” He further added, “But if you embrace the fact that you’re an underdog, people will support you because of that.”
According to the former WCW employee, if Tony Khan stops competing against WWE directly and acts as an alternative, he can make this his strength.
Even though sometimes Bischoff gives useful advice to AEW’s CEO, he is mostly calling him out on the things that he does wrong in his opinion. A few weeks ago, Eric Bischoff explained the reason why he is usually not warm and welcoming towards Tony Khan.

Tony Khan once called out Eric Bischoff’s former workplace
When AEW was coming up, Bischoff was intrigued to see it come up like many wrestling fans at the time. However, during those forming months, Tony Khan once mentioned that he has more experience than WCW’s owner did and this is why his promotion will not come to an end like WCW. Since Bischoff had worked closely in the company, he was offended by this and did not appreciate Khan’s comments.
This then started a rivalry between Eric Bischoff and Tony Khan that is still going on to this day and we often see them arguing online.
