Kevin’s own in-ring talk show is the perfect place to deliver rock-solid promos. What better platform for Logan Paul to put his wits and quips on display? And that is what happened in tonight’s edition of SmackDown.

Before the match for the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble, Kevin Owens invited Logan Paul to join him as his guest on The Kevin Owens Show. And it is there that we found out the reason behind Logan Paul being the superstar that we know of now.

In his promo for the show, The Maverick took to the ring and claimed that Owen’s show was now his. Going to and fro between verbal jabs and praises, Paul revealed the reason that got him to become the superstar that he is now, and it was Kevin Owens who became the catalyst.

He said, “3 years ago, I came to my first WrestleMania, and you, Kevin Owens, embarrassed me in front of 70k people. No, just like that, you hit me with a stunner, and all of these people cheered. I’m feeling it right now, just like I was then—that Kevin was the moment that I realized I had to prove to you and the entire WWE universe that I belonged here.”

The crowd obviously did not buy what the heel tried his best to sell, as they started the “Logan sucks” chant that KO pleasantly let’s them do before delivering his thoughts. Addressing the insults directed at him, Kevin delivers his promo, and what followed was probably a foresight to the Rumble.

Saying Logan is protected and sheltered, Owens calls him out for getting all the shortcuts and tools when he came in because of his popularity as well as the notoriety he brought to the promotion. Though he also gave Logan credit for using the opportunities right and becoming a champion, he still believes that Logan being the champion is a joke, and he wishes to end the joke at the Royal Rumble.

However, Logan did not take the allegations of being ‘protected’ lightly, as he pointed out that it is KO who is wearing a cast and has an unfair advantage. To make Logan feel better, Owens starts to remove his cast but is sucker punched by the Maverick. The two brawl out a bit, but considering the injured hand of Owens is finally exposed, it takes Paul no time to exploit the weakness and slam the broken hand of Owens against the ring post as he stands tall with his belt, possibly foreshadowing a win at the Royal Rumble considering the extent of KO’s injury.
