WWE Hall of Famer Edge made his emphatic return to in-ring action on the blue brand after over a decade! The ‘Rated-R Superstar’ competed in a match against Jey Uso, where the winner would become the special guest enforcer at Fastlane. Edge won the match, but what followed next sent a loud and clear message.

Edge defeats Jey Uso, becomes Special Guest Enforcer at Fastlane

The stakes were high in the match between Jey Uso and Edge last night on SmackDown. Both men put on a suitable match for television. It wasn’t a match that was there just for the sake of it, and we could evidently see the wonderful storytelling inside the ring.

Jey Uso set his focus on Edge’s ribs/mid-section from the early going. This meant the ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ had issues breathing, but he still fought on. It seemed like Edge’s return would be ruined with a loss after Uso hit him with a Uso Splash. However, Edge showed his resilience yet again.

The ‘Master Manipulator‘ turned the tables on Uso following a picture-perfect Edgecution (Impaler DDT). Uso looked to bounce back from Edge’s offensive but was quickly brought down on the mat with an arm drag. Edge quickly followed it up with his trademark spear and punched his ticket as the Special Guest Enforcer at Fastlane.

Roman Reigns gets the last laugh

The ‘Rated-R Superstar’ picked up a statement victory and stared down Daniel Bryan sitting ringside at the commentary table. However, just as Edge turned, he fell prey to a rib-shattering Spear from Roman Reigns. The ‘Head of the Table’ then stared down Bryan, and without wasting much time, D-Bry went to confront Reigns in the ring.

Sadly, Jey Uso attacked Daniel Bryan just when he was about to enter the ring. He then threw Bryan in the ring, allowing Reigns to connect with another vicious spear. The show ended with Roman Reigns standing tall over Edge and Daniel Bryan with his Universal Championship.
