Edge and Seth Rollins wrote the first chapter of the rivalry at WWE SummerSlam 2021. The ‘Rated-R Superstar’ prevailed in Sin City and got the decisive win over Rollins. The following week, both men addressed the WWE Universe and it seemed like they were done with each other. Although, that wasn’t the case.

Seth Rollins planted seeds of another match with Edge last week. This led to the second saga between the two at Super SmackDown from Madison Square Garden. Edge looked poised to teach Rollins a lesson again. However, this time, the ‘Messiah’ was more than prepared for him.

Edge stretchered out of Madison Square Garden during WWE Super SmackDown

Both men collided in a one-on-one match this week on SmackDown. Just like their previous encounter, this one too, started off pretty slow with both men feeling out each other. But it picked up pace as the match went on.

Things took a turn for the worst in the penultimate moments of the match. Edge looked to get Rollins into a corner, but this is when Rollins used his left hand to blind WWE referee Jessika Carr.

While Carr was blinded in the corner, Rollins took the moniker of the ‘Ultimate Opportunist,’ and connected with a low blow on Edge. With the latter writhing in pain, down on his knees, the ‘Savior of SmackDown’ followed up with three vicious superkicks.

Ultimately, Seth Rollins connected the curb stomp on Edge to pick up the pinfall victory. After the match, medics attended to Edge and stretchered him out of the arena. WWE officials looked concerned as Edge was loaded into the ambulance.

Rollins was then interviewed backstage after his actions against Edge. He looked absolutely lost and said, “I am not sure how I am supposed to feel. Maybe, I don’t feel anything at all.”

End of Edge’s saga with Seth Rollins?

Edge and Seth Rollins are even with one win each over each other. In a perfect world, a tie-breaker would be a no-brainer. However, with the chapters these two have written, we wouldn’t mind if things end here.

After all, we could see Rollins move on to his quest for the Universal Championship, while the ‘Ultimate Opportunist’ moves to Raw, based on convincing reports.

Even if WWE decides to do a third match between the two, we feel it might be a stipulation match. Although Extreme Rules doesn’t look like a possibility right now, anything could happen in the coming week.
