It’s a well-known fact that Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero’s friendship ran way deep. The two had a strong bond that extended out of their wrestling careers. When it was announced that Mysterio would be inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame there was joy all around. And he has now made his big day more special by giving a fitting tribute to the late great Guerrero.
He passed away in 2005 leaving the wrestling community teary-eyed. But has left with a lasting legacy in the business and will forever be remembered for his stellar career. And now ahead of his special day, The Master of 619 has previously also honored the ‘Latino Heat’ on many occasions and he has done it again.

In a backstage segment on the latest edition of SmackDown, Legado Del Fantasma’s Santos Escobar assured Mysterio of watching his back in case of any ambush from The Judgement Day. However, the legend had something else in mind as he had t-shirts for each member of the stable.
And once they had a look at the printed content on the shirt their eyes lit-up. The audience also reacted with a huge pop as the shirts had WCW’s Latino World Order name printed on them. Mysterio even announced, “We are the new Latino World Order”.

It was certainly a moment of pure surprise for the WWE Universe who would not have even thought about such a revival for the iconic faction. The Stamford-based promotion is keeping the spectators on their heels come this WrestleMania weekend. It is essential to learn about the LWO and Guerrero’s huge part in it.
A brief history of the LWO
The heel faction was founded and headed by Guerrero in 1998. And as the name suggests the group consisted of Latin performers who came together under one umbrella. The villainous faction had many run-ins with Mysterio during his WCW days. He even had a brief stint with LWO before it got disbanded in 1999. Before ‘The Biggest Little Man’ brought it back to life in the recent edition of the blue brand.

Rey Mysterio honored the legacy of one of the all-time greats Eddie Guerrero on such a big night for him on a personal note. On the night when the fans celebrate his illustrious career, he ensured that his late friend will be remembered too. It’s fitting, after all, he has had a huge part in Mysterio’s success.
