Recently, WWE legend and Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco on an episode of Monday Mailbag shared his thoughts on the promos during Eddie and JBL’s feud. Brisco claimed Eddie Guerrero approved all the promos before JBL could say those things on air.

Brisco said, “I think that’s a reason Eddie allowed him to go that far as he went, because he knew John knew his people and knew how his people were and everything. Those skits nowadays are controversial, but Eddie approved every one of them.”
Brisco further added, “It was never meant to be offensive or anything like that. It was a storyline, and JBL did such a good job telling the story that they started believing he was like that character. So that’s just more props to JBL.” (H/T WrestlingNews.Co)
JBL would receive massive heat for these promos he did during his feud with Eddie. But Eddie knew that the JBL character was different and needed those types of promos to generate the fuel for the feud. Brisco also said that JBL is a wonderful person and respects all the communities.
Eddie Guerrero knew how to get the crowd’s attention
JBL won his first WWE Title when he defeated Eddie Guerrero. Both of them were in the main spotlight on the blue brand for a long time. This feud was the first major push for JBL in the singles run. He claimed to learn many things from Eddie.
JBL in his appearance on the ‘After the Bell’ podcast some time back, indirectly said how ‘The Latino Heat’ knew how to get the crowd’s attention. Also, Eddie’s knowledge helped JBL grow higher in WWE. He said, “Without Eddie Guerrero, there is no JBL.”
