Earlier this year, UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, bought WWE from Vince McMahon in April. The Chairman of the Stamford-based promotion wanted to sell his company for 9 billion dollars. Instead, he got a whopping 9.3 billion dollars out of this deal.

Everyone has deemed the earth-shattering UFC-WWE merger a brilliant project and is fully optimistic about its future. However, Triple H recently revealed how the merger is derailing WWE’s developmental plans.

Triple H explains why NXT Europe hasn’t come to fruition yet

Last year in September, WWE pulled the plug on its NXT UK brand. The promotion revealed that they would release an NXT Europe brand in 2023 that will take in talent from all the European countries. Recently, a reporter at WWE Money in the Bank press conference asked ‘HHH’ why the promotion hasn’t executed this plan yet.

‘Hunter’ replied that the UFC-WWE merger has been a big factor in WWE not being able to release its European developmental brand. He said, Yeah, it’s [UFC-WWE merger] just slowed down the process. I think I’m terrible with time, at some point; I don’t know, end of the year, last year, whatever it is, we said in 2023 it would happen.”

“Not having a crystal ball to see where everything was headed in that moment in time, obviously, this transition with this merger with UFC, with Endeavor, and TKO, it’s changed the time frame. But I think the intent is still the same. I mentioned it under the premise of WrestleMania and premium live events going global,” he added.

He explained that the merger has derailed WWE developmental plans, but also promised that WWE NXT Europe will come to fruition, though it will take some time for that to happen.

Triple H is excited about NXT Europe

WWE is a global company, and it is looking to expand itself around the globe. ‘The Game’ mentioned that there are a lot of talents in Europe and would love to have them as a part of the Stamford-based promotion. He is excited for all the amazing wrestling talents to have a big platform to showcase their combat skills.
