The last episode of WWE SmackDown featured Dwayne The Rock Johnson coming out to a new theme song. With new graphics inspired by his movie Black Adam, this was a new look for Johnson. The Great One is not known to change his theme song or his entrance, so this was a breath of fresh air. However, fans did not approve of this new entrance theme. So, for his appearance on WWE SmackDown, he reverted back to his old iconic theme but with a slight difference.

Dwayne Johnson combines old with a touch of new for his entrance theme

Tonight, as the show started, the iconic Rock theme played, but it was slower and more heelish than the normal one. This fits perfectly with his heel persona. Moreover, it plays to what Johnson said during his first heel promo. The heel side of Johnson was always there and needed to be let out. Using his iconic theme with slight heelish undertones makes it the perfect entrance for The Rock. Also, the Black Adam graphics were still incorporated.

The entrance took place as it did before, with The Rock’s iconic line belting out over the arena. This was followed by the sound and effects of lightning. This was taken from Johnson’s Black Adam movie, in which he played the title character. This was followed up by Johnson coming out to a spotlight with a bolt of lightning, which again is in line with his movie. This is where fans noticed the change in his theme music. While keeping the iconic melody, the tempo, and the added guitars sounded a lot different. The slowed tone of the theme made it sound more intense, and the guitar’s pitch was also improved. Moreover, this wasn’t the only different aspect of Johnson and his promos.
