The Rock follows a strict diet of animal-based protein and performs high-intensity workouts to maintain his incredible physique. But there is one food in particular that he cut out from his diet. The multimillionaire now saves $1400 per year because of it.

This food item is cod. Turns out The Rock used to eat a lot of cod until 2016. In fact, in 2015, FiveThirtyEight estimated that based on data available, The Rock consumed nearly 821 pounds of cod each year.

Further, they reported that since each pound of the fish costs around $1.75; The Rock consumed $1400 worth of cod each year. Moreover, the cod only formed a small part of The Rock’s diet as the athlete eats much more than an average person.

However, in 2016, The Rock revealed that he had given up eating cod altogether. Therefore, now in 2022, he has saved up to $10000 by not buying cod.

Cod is an endangered species, and its numbers are declining drastically. Moreover, The Rock’s consumption of cod would lead to twice the amount of mercury than considered safe being absorbed by The Rock.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and his workout regiment

Dwayne Johnson works out a lot besides maintaining a healthy diet. He has revealed on different occasions that he works out anywhere from 3 to 4 hours a day. This number can rise up to 6 hours a day on some occasions.
