The 26-year-old superstar looked quite poised and self-assured as usual before heading to the fight against Lee. Grabbing the mic, the Theory addressed himself as the 150 million hitman.
He also boasted about knocking down his childhood idol John Cena at WrestleMania. He also claimed how he also humbled Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson a couple of weeks ago. But his loudmouth was made to shut up by Dragon Lee.
During the match, Grayson Waller tried to help out Theory, but Cameron Grimes evened the odds and allowed Dragon Lee to pick up the win.
Although Theory continues staying true to his usual over-the-top behavior on screen, the rest of the WWE world believes being at odds with Dwayne Johnson on the SmackDown episode of 15th September made him a much bigger star.
Dewayne Johnson brought more momentum to Austin Theory’s rousing career
When it comes to elevating new generations, The Rock undoubtedly played a guardian angel’s role to many wrestlers like Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, and Kurt Angle, etc in the past. Now, the 26-year-old looks to be the latest beneficiary of it.
Despite being a marquee name in Holywood, The Rock’s greatness found footing in his WWE astonishing WWE run. Though it was comparatively short-lived, The Great One managed to achieve enough greatness to be a big stepping stone to the newbies.
Austin Theory earned the opportunity to work with some of the top-tier names in the industry like John Cena, and Rey Mysterio quite early in his career. However, messing with the Brahma Bull on SmackDown weeks ago cemented his status in the company. At least, WWE manager Dutch Mantell believes so.
The veteran sees a clear upward movement for Theory after his clash with Johnson. He thinks SmackDown 15/10 evening made him a real star.
