The duo had a death stare-down early this year, showing fans the bad blood brewing between them. Later on, Cody Rhodes shockingly revealed that he would fight Reigns for the title for sure, but not at WrestleMania 40. These inklings told us out loud that the cousin vs cousin clash was fated. Despite those developments, the matchup didn’t materialize in Philadelphia later.

WWE took fan outrage and suggestions in mind as they reverted to their original plan of Rhodes vs Reigns. Fast forward now to a unique landscape in pro wrestling and the matchup could happen soon enough. However, The Brahma Bull believes that the feud is only meant for the biggest stage and nowhere else as evidenced by the writing of his own show. So we might have to wait a little longer for the most-anticipated matchup.

The Bloodline has been undergoing a severe evolution lately. Starting from Solo Sikoa’s takeover to a bunch of additions in the stable to Paul Heyman’s merciless beat down, everything is shaping up for an eventual civil war. The speculative theory stands for The Rock joining team Sikoa to topple his cousin. While that feud might brew behind the doors, the hollowed ground for the familial feud to pan out is WrestleMania. In the newly released documentary, ‘WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain, the Great One revealed how he and his crew rooted for a WrestleMania fight against The Big Dog since the filming days of the Young Rock show. ”We actually even teased it on the show. Acknowledge me! By the way, that’s my cousin Joe, who would later go by Roman Reigns, future WWE Champion. A snippet from the show plays, which says “Come on, Dewey, let’s wrestle. No, the world’s not ready. A match that big can only happen at WrestleMania.”

That said, his softer, wiser side got the better of him, even though it didn’t show itself inside the ring.

In the recently released documentary, The Brahma Bull remarked how he was pissed at fans being upset over Cody Rhodes’ drifting away from his top-notch WrestleMania spot. It culminated in him voluntarily giving up on his dream match with Roman Reigns in WrestleMania 40 to give fans what they want. Now, it will really be interesting to see if the inevitable feud brewing up for the next year, Mania following the Bloodline civil war or not.
