Dwayne Johnson’s Pro Wrestling Career Helped Him to Do Justice to Black Adam: “It’s the Same Thing”

Dwayne Johnson, according to ‘Forbes’, is one of the top-earning actors in the entire world. But it was never an easy path for him. Johnson knows what struggle is, and he has had his own fair share of it. The Rock worked hard and made his way to the top.

As a wrestler, he gained immense popularity and become a household name for wrestling and WWE fans. His iconic catchphrases are still remembered by his fans. Ever since his Hollywood debut, the actor has been a part of several big projects.

Now, one of the most top-sought actors in the world, Dwayne Johnson always finds himself with a busy schedule. His upcoming film, ‘Black Adam’ is just around the corner and is slated to release on 21st October 2022.

Speaking on ‘Jake’s Takes‘, Johnson sat down with Jake Hamilton and spoke about his upcoming superhero film. Hamilton compared his WWE Character with that of his DC Character, and then asked about his working experience with DC and asked if working in WWE was similar to working in DC.

Johnson said, “Yes. Number one and also number two, I think me cutting my teeth and making my bones in pro wrestling, even before WWE, when I started down in Memphis. Wrestling for Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, Jerry Jarret, Jeff jarret. And wrestling in those little flea markets that I used to wrestle at, and then getting to WWE.”

“I think my experience in the world of pro wrestling helped me craft an even better Black Adam.”

Johnson further claimed, “Because ultimately, what the world of wrestling always did for me, number one, always listen to the audience. Let them inform you, they will always inform you where you need to go. But then also do your best to think 10, 12, 20 steps ahead.”

He stated, “So in the world of wrestling, often times if I knew what our WrestleMania main event would be say, me and Stone Cold Steve Austin, we’d work backwords from there. So, it’s the same thing where the ultimate goal was not only deliver, Black Adam but also deliver the JSA, five new superhero characters in one movie.”

“Then also, let’s stretch this universe out. And let’s think about what it looks like if … Black Adam were to face any of these other characters.”

Johnson is now all set and geared up for his film to release, and fans are waiting to see if finally Henry Cavill makes his return.

Dwayne Johnson revealed he did not want a padded Black Adam Costume

The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson is set to play the titular character of Black Adam in his latest film. Johnson is most notably known for his beefed-up physique, and it is very noticeable in his superhero costume as Black Adam.

However, initially, he was offered a padded costume, which he was not satisfied with. Hence, changes were made. The actor wanted to show his physique.
