SmackDown was largely considered the most popular wrestling show last year with viewership off the charts. Not only does the show have compelling storylines to engage the audience, but occasional special appearances like that of John Cena that help build intrigue. They have carried on their chariot of success as the upcoming episode is highly anticipated as fans expect Roman Reigns, The Rock, and Triple H in the ring at the same time.

SmackDown shows promising numbers despite Super Bowl hype

Renowned Wrestling Journalist Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer News spoke about the recent episode of SmackDown, a day after the WrestleMania XL Kickoff press conference. As expected, SmackDown did great. But Meltzer feels that the upcoming episode of SmackDown will be even better, probably the best show on TV for the week.

Meltzer said, “SmackDown did fantastic. 2.578 million viewers and 0.75. I think next week’s gonna be the week. Because, no football, and they did an 0.75.” He used the TV ratings numbers to prove his point. Well, for the past couple of years, SmackDown has been doing great on TV, especially last year when they pulled over 2.5 million viewers on several occasions.

Meltzer explained the segments of the show that managed to draw major attention from fans. As per the words of Meltzer, segments involving Triple H received the most viewership. He said, “The two big quarters were both the ones with Triple H – the opening quarter with him talking about the press conference, and then the other one was the one later with him and Heyman.

One of the other segments that the fans loved featured Bayley against Damage CTRL with Dakota Kai which had 1.040 million viewers in the age group 18-49. But this isn’t even the best SmackDown for fans as WWE is looking forward to upping the ante a bit more.

Fans bestow high hopes from SmackDown as The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Triple H return

Meltzer and fans have high expectations from the upcoming edition which will feature The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Triple H. He said, “Next week they’ve got The Rock and Roman Reigns both on the show, and I think Triple H too right, because Heyman said he was gonna bring them on to confront Triple H.

Thus, fans can expect wild things in the coming episode of SmackDown at Delta Center, Salt Lake City, Utah. Alongside The Bloodline segment and the duel at WrestleMania, WWE has Bayley vs. Damage CTRL, LA Knight vs. AJ Styles, Randy Orton and much more.
