It was 2002 when Dwayne Johnson, then a major WWE superstar, had his first starring role in a worldwide film titled The Scorpion King. A spin-off of The Mummy Returns. The actor appeared with a scorpion body and laughable special effects. The good thing is that his first film didn’t have other technical deficiencies, but it did have a performer who proved capable of shouldering an entire production.

But do you know that in The Scorpion King, his co-actor had to explain to him a major rule about PG-13 films? A rule that would help him in his future projects. But what rule is it? Let’s find out!

Kelly Hu, the co-star of Dwayne Johnson in The Scorpion King, recently arrived for an interview on Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone. During the interview, the host asks her about being able to act alongside major stars. And mentioning the Rock specifically, he asked how was it working with the mega icon considering that it was only his first movie back then. And that is when Kelly Hu revealed that Johnson had to learn a lot, including learning how to kiss PG-13 style. She said, “Well he was just learning. He was still figuring that one of the things that he did not know was that you know in a PG-13 film when you kiss you can’t use tongue. So he just got in there, yeah. And I was like ‘Oh hello’ I wasn’t about to tell him but somebody else had to. After a few takes they were like ‘by the way you got to ease off on the tongue.'”

The 2002 film opened the door to stardom for Johnson and from there he became a box office magnet and established performer, as we know him today. And now he is making WWE fans love him. After all, he became a heel again after years. And according to him, he made “wrestling fun again.” However, it seems like a WWE superstar disagrees with this notion.
