While the first trailer for Johnson’s upcoming animated sequel, Moana 2, releases tomorrow, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson told the franchise fans to buckle up. He quenched the thirst for updates by giving away the first theatrical poster through his latest IG post. It gave us a sneak peek at the trailer of the film that reads ”The Ocean is calling them back 🌊🌺 Experience the new trailer for Disney’s #Moana2 tomorrow and see the movie only in theaters on November 27, 2024!” Take a look at a glimpse below before you get access to enjoy the full experience in theaters in November.

Moana 2 features a score with contributions from Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear who earned a Grammy award for their work in Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’. Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa’i, and the legendary Mark Mancina will also contribute to the production of an ethereal symphony. Recently, Dwayne Johnson also produced some BTS photos on Instagram from the recording booth to let fans know that his incredible voiceover journey for Maui has wrapped up.

However, even if the movie emerges as a game-changer, some high-risk factors could make the road to success a tricky deal.

The sequel of the original Moana has incorporated some sizeable changes on the road to its 2024 release. It was initially meant to be a Disney series. But later, as the plan progressed, Disney CEO Bob Iger and other directors decided that it would do better as a movie, signaling a pretty risky and exploring move. The last-minute shift in gears quite obviously invites a lot of creative and financial challenges for the moviemaker. However, the compelling narrative of a new set of seafarers joining Moana and Maui on their endless pursuit to venture into the unknown seems promising to emerge as the real hero, beating all the odds.
