Dwayne Johnson, Who Was on Course to Replace Will Smith for an Iconic Disney Role, Has Now Reportedly Been Sidelined by Disney Following Black Adam’s Disaster

There is nothing worse in Hollywood than a recognized failure. If a movie comes and goes and no one notices, that’s a regular occurrence. But if a movie had massive promotion and marketing, people expect to see it gain massive box office numbers.

But unfortunately for Dwayne Johnson, his marketing for Black Adam did not help the movie at all. Instead, people are now projecting the losses that will occur due to its failure.

Not only does this minimize the chances of Black Adam 2 becoming a reality, but it will also affect the chances of Johnson making big movies any time soon.

And that might be the case already, as Disney mentioned, that Johnson won’t be a part of their new series, despite the actor being featured in the movie. Especially because Disney was looking for Johnson to fill Will Smith’s Genie.

Dwayne Johnson gets canned from a new Disney project after Black Adam’s failure

According to a report by Inside the Magic, they reported that Johnson will not be reprising his role as Jack Bruno in the spin-off series of his cult classic, Race to the Witch Mountain.

While the blurb for the series mentions two teenagers being the main actors, Johnson could have been tied to the project in one or another. But Disney chose not to include the former WWE Champion.

This is more surprising given the fact that at one time, they were open to Johnson playing the Genie in the live-action Aladdin instead of Will Smith. You can read about that here.

Disney also had plans to bring in Johnson for Pirates of the Caribbean. Also, Johnson has partnered with Disney for a series of massive movies like Moana and Jungle Cruise.

The reason for Johnson’s exclusion could be because of the performance of his movie, Black Adam. His massive influx of time and effort in making this movie a success led to a greater sense of failure.

In addition to that, Johnson gave a big response to a report from Variety magazine when they noted the box office failure that is Black Adam.
