Dwayne Johnson turned up in WWE again last night at SmackDown. Seeing him was a pleasant sight for fans waiting for his return again. WWE also revealed that “The Rock” will be facing his cousin Roman Reigns during an upcoming press conference held by the wrestling promotion.
Although the two Samoan wrestlers won’t have a full-blown match at the conference, it was promoted as a business strategy to attract everyone’s attention. New reports suggest that apart from this, Nick Khan has planned more ways to attract the media at his conference.

Last night, Cody Rhodes announced that he won’t be completing his story at WrestleMania this year against Reigns. Moreover, the feud between “The Rock” and Roman Reigns was solidified and confirmed to take place in Mania this year. To promote the biggest PLE of the year even further, WWE will be holding a press conference, utilizing the NFL’s Super Bowl championship.
An account on Twitter recently pointed toward what could be the reason behind WWE picking Las Vegas as the city to hold their WrestleMania kick-off event. The account elaborated on the same by revealing that since all the big media houses will be in the city due to Super Bowl 58 taking place on February 11, WWE kept their event on the 8th of the month, inviting the maximum amount of coverage.
While this will result in the company getting several controversial questions, it will also give WWE a chance to promote their biggest PLE of the year even better, especially considering the possibility of Johnson’s presence at the conference.

Reports on this are coming in left and right. Another trusted source has been informed that the decision to make Cody Rhodes abandon his storyline was greatly influenced by Dwayne Johnson.
Dwayne Johnson had a big hand in putting a pause to Cody Rhodes’ story
New reports about the company revealed that DJ was greatly involved in pushing the idea that his match against Reigns should be the highlight of WrestleMania 40 instead of Cody Rhodes. Even though WWE was building up The American Nightmare’s storyline for a long time, Johnson believes that the company will have a better shot if he faces Roman Reigns himself.

The reason behind this was that WWE is facing issues with two other wrestlers at the moment that may not be at WM this year. So, having Johnson would certainly ‘save’ the event according to himself, as the reports suggest.
And now, having more coverage can further help the original motive, especially as fans have not taken kindly to Johnson’s sudden involvement with Rhodes’ story.
