Dwayne Johnson surprised his entire wrestling fanbase by joining the TKO board of directors. One moment, fans knew him as a former WWE star, the next, he became a part of the top-level administration of the wrestling promotion. Since his inauguration to the team, not many details have been revealed about the role that he would play on the board. But now, an industry insider has shed light on the same.
Dave Meltzer recently talked about ‘The Rock’s role in the TKO group as he is now a part of the board of directors. Everyone has different roles to play in the board and Johnson seems to be supervising Triple H.

Before The Rock joined the board of directors a few days ago, he worked under Paul Levesque’s direction as the latter’s work is to take care of talents and book the shows. But Johnson has seemingly reversed the situation after joining the TKO group. Not only HHH but Nick Khan‘s work will also be supervised by the former wrestler.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, The Samoan businessman will be overlooking both the CEO and CCO of WWE to keep their work in check. “The WWE hiring and firing would be Nick Khan and the talent would be Paul Levesque. Dwayne would be part of the crew that oversees them. As far as other types of directions and stuff he would have input but he would not be directly on the firing and hiring. Would he have influence? Hell yeah. Anything he wants to have influence on he will have influence on. He’ll have a seat at the table and they’ll listen but it will not be his purview,” they said. This is a completely reversed situation to how things were a few days ago when Johnson hadn’t joined the team.
Ever since he joined the board, fans have been wondering about his position. Now that the answer is clear, we have better clarity on a question that we sought to answer earlier.
Is Dwayne Johnson’s position higher than that of Vince McMahon’s?

The simple answer to this question is, ‘no’. The reason behind this is that while Johnson is a member of the board who will oversee basic operations regarding talent and its employment, his position is not above McMahon’s because the latter is the Executive Chairman of the TKO group.
As part of his role on the board of directors, McMahon will lead the team and tell them about the strategic direction that will work in the best interest of the said group.

Because of this, McMahon sits higher in the hierarchy. And while Johnson may be keeping a check on two of his former bosses, he is still accountable to the former CEO of WWE. What do you think about Johnson’s new role?
