Dwayne Johnson is past the point of returning to wrestling again in the future. For one, there is no monetary inclination for The Rock. He is making far more by doing three to four movies in a year. When it comes to doing it for the fans, DJ has shifted to another fanbase entirely. Catering to comic book and superhero movie fans with Black Adam, Johnson is happy doing that. What could possibly motivate him to come back to the ring?

But there is a slim chance if the stars align. Ideally, if there is some free time in The Rock’s movie schedule and he is ready to come back to the Performance Center to hone up his moves. But therein comes another issue, the risk of being injured.
For as loud as the non-believers want to shout, pro-wrestling is a sport that could lead to life-threatening injuries. Seeing his future in movies and entrepreneurship, there is no way Johnson would take that risk. But one clip in Young Rock may hint at the highly anticipated WrestleMania match between Dwayne Johnson and Roman Reigns.

One of the former WWE Head Writers, Brian Gewirtz, revealed to Wrestling Inc what the Young Rock clip meant, saying, “I threw out that line. There were a lot of lines in there that did not have WrestleMania implications going into it. We also knew that it was a possibility and anything could happen. It’s not like the WWE in 2022 or 2023 as it relates to WrestleMania.”

“I remember running it by Dwayne and he said, ‘I don’t know if the match is going to happen.’ Maybe it does or maybe it doesn’t, but it’s certainly a cool moment in the ‘Young Rock’ universe. If it does happen, then you know that little clip is going to be in the big video package, so it works either way. That’s how I see it.”

The scene in question includes the Rock’s family collectively watching the TV when young Roman Reigns pops up climbing Johnson’s back. He proclaims that he wants to wrestle Dewey (nickname for Dwayne) but his uncle says, “The world’s not ready, a match that big can only happen at WrestleMania.”
