After WWE, Dwayne Johnson is finally diving down into another sport that is close to his heart – American football. For every American, being drafted into the NFL is a big deal, same with Johnson. But The Rock couldn’t make the cut, unfortunately. But that cane as a blessing in disguise as he would go on to become the greatest wrestler and a pop culture icon after that rejection.
But while the NFL might have rejected him, Johnson decided to change the football industry in another way. Buying the XFL, after it filed for bankruptcy, in 2020 with his business partner, Dany Garcia, Johnson is looking to bring another big league to the sport. Like AEW for WWE, XFL will challenge the NFL for viewership. But the toll of running such a big corporation is taking on Johnson.

In an Instagram post, The Rock was seen doing cardio while drinking his own energy drink, ZOA. Other than that, the caption read, “Horrible nights sleep (3 hours) but felt good to shake all the fatigue shit out and get ready for work. Everyone’s tired. We all gotta work.”
These horrible nights are no secret as Johnson has been extra busy with managing the XFL’s kickoff season. While cardio might help a lot of people, like Johnson, it is not for the faint hearted. Conversely, it might lead to more body fatigue.
The XFL kickoff season just happened this past weekend. For three nights, Johnson was up and understandably worried about the reception of the league. A lot of things depend on this company for Johnson and Garcia as well.

Only time will tell what happens with the XFL this season, but we hope nothing like 2001 or 2020 occurs again and the company is once again unable to give the fans a decent show. With all the experience of being in the players’ and audience’s position, Johnson must have an idea about improving the feel of American football for audiences throughout the country.
