The NFL season is on and fans just can’t get enough of the madness. The adrenaline-pumping action is what draws most fans to the sport of American football. Players being drafted mid-season in the NFL is a common occurrence. But Dwayne Johnson is using this time to sign ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the XFL.

If he agrees, this will be a major push for the professional American football minor league.

The XFL has already had two seasons under its belt and Johnson and Co. are gearing up for the third in 2024. To make the season even more power-packed, Johnson is trying hard to sign ex-NFL Quarterback Colin Kaepernick to the league. Although the meeting went great, Johnson is doubtful that the move will happen.

But irrespective of whether the move happens or not, Johnson is just happy for the players’ success. As in the process of the XFL growing, many XFL players have been getting signed to the NFL this season. This has made Johnson proud, especially as he wasn’t selected for the NFL in the 1995 draft.

On his recent appearance on JAKIB Sports, Johnson spoke about how the XFL is not at all trying to compete with the NFL. He also expressed the satisfaction he gets when he meets his XFL players after they get signed to the premier league. He said, “We got the support from the NFL which we really appreciate and you know what’s been the most gratifying thing has been seeing these players sign their NFL contracts, come back. So when I come back and see them and I shake their hands, brother, like that handshake is a strong handshake. When I give them a hug, their hug, and their tears and it’s like thank you for this opportunity.”

And Dwayne Johnson recently announced which XFL player he will be rooting for this NFL season.

Dwayne Johnson will be cheering for A.J. McCarron of the Cincinnati Bengals

In spite of not being selected for the NFL, Johnson closely follows the league and watches the games like any ardent fan. And this season, he has another reason to be glued to the TV screen.

That’s because XFL star A.J. McCarron just got signed to the Cincinnati Bengals for this season. Johnson took to Twitter to congratulate McCarron and also announce his support for him and the team.

But Dwayne Johnson is still not losing hopes for Colin Kaepernick, who became a father a few months ago. We will just have to wait and watch to see if he eventually signs up with the XFL.
