Dwayne Johnson Rumored to Go Up Against Elon Musk & Kanye West as Past Comments Resurface

The highest-paid actor in the world, Dwayne Johnson, was recently in the news for possibly starting a career in politics. However, it halted after he publicly announced that he would like to step away from that role and instead focus on being a father.

Johnson’s success as an actor found him on new heights. It established him and earned him fame. However, his desire to be the President was still left. Johnson had once expressed his desire of being The POTUS.

An article by Business Insider has found a few alternatives for replacing Joe Biden or Donald Trump in the next upcoming election. However, out of all these nominations are present some of the biggest entertainers or public figures. Entities such as Dwayne Johnson, Kanye West, Elon Musk, and Oprah Winfrey have also been included.

While, speaking to CBS Sunday Morning, Johnson stated that being the President is currently “off the table.” And, claimed the reason as him fulfilling his duties as a father to his daughters. However, his desire to be the President resurfaced recently because of his past comments. In 2021, he told CNN that he was humbled. It came after a poll found 46% of Americans wanted Johnson as the next President.

Johnson said, “I think that poll of almost half of Americans being in favor of me running for president is so humbling. It sits me down and I don’t know any other way to describe it.” However, an even older comment from 2017 in an interview with Variety, found him interested in the position.

In 2017, Johnson stated, “the realistic consideration would be 2024”. He recently announced his disinterest in running for the POTUS. However, nothing can be confirmed yet, since The Rock can change his mind anytime.

John Cena is a WWE legend and a former rival of Dwayne Johnson. Cena has won everything that is there to be won and achieved a legendary status very early on. The 16-time-World Champion then left WWE to pursue his career as an actor in Hollywood. His immense popularity helped him bag important roles, and made him a household name.

However, during an interview with LadBible last year, Cena opened up about his Presidential ambitions. When a fan asked what he would do first as The President, Cena humbly said he would turn the job down.

Although, it does not prove Cena’s future ambitions; it does prove that he is currently not interested in the role. However, John Cena is going to star in the 2022 political film, The Independent, which talks about an Independent political candidate running for The President. The film premiered exclusively on Peacock on November 2, 2022.
