The Rock’s father, Rocky Johnson, had been the backbone of his life since the very start. Dwayne Johnson wanted to play for the NFL; however, his dream was crushed in his teenage. This moment led to Johnson following in his father’s footsteps.

Rocky Johnson was one of the most charismatic WWE superstars of all time. The Rock’s father was the first Black Georgia Heavyweight champion and a 2-time NWA Television Champion.

Dwayne Johnson manifested what comforted him at his father’s funerals?

During an interview with Oprah’s 2020 Vision Tour Visionaries, Dwayne Johnson poured his heart out about his father’s passing away. The Rock explained what relieved him at ‘Soulman’ Rocky Johnson’s funeral.

He said“I had a very complicated relationship with my dad. There was a foundation of tough love with my father, and he wasn’t a big ‘I love you’ guy. And as complicated as it was, what gave me great satisfaction at the funeral was to see he—he was a great friend to so many guys.”

 

“A challenged father. But a great friend to so many people. So he went quick. There wasn’t a lot of suffering, thankfully,” The Rock added.

‘The Great One’ revealed that he shared a complex relationship with his father. For him, it was not always a fairyland father-son relationship. However, The Rock was satisfied because his old man died having great friends in his life.

The host, Oprah, asked that before Rocky Johnson took his last breath, was he able to share everything with him? Dwayne Johnson denied and regrets that he did not speak when he had the moment.

Johnson continued, “No, I did not. So, you know, that’s the tricky thing. I think as we all go through this and we all lose loved ones, and I think what I’ve realized in the past couple of weeks is it’s good to explore these feelings. I’m feeling a little guilty, and I didn’t get a chance to say the things I wanted to say. Or I wish he would have said the things to me.”
