Dwayne Johnson is one of the biggest wrestlers who would go on to amass an enormous fan following with his switch to Hollywood. But one thing that is attached to him, if it’s a wrestling ring or a movie premiere, is his bond to his family.

The Anoa’i is one of the most instrumental families akin to the McMahons and Harts when it comes to professional wrestling. Not only have they been pumping out stars left and right, every era of wrestling has almost one star with the name Anoa’i attached to them.

Earlier today The Rock posted a photo captioned, “1 day. 2 workouts. HAWAII 🌺💪🏾. I trained early this morning and had to cut the final 45min of my workout to get back to the hotel for my meetings and work. It really gnawed the f**k outta me that I didn’t finish my training. So after I wrapped my work tonight, I came back to the gym to finish what I started.”

The Anoa’i family’s presence in WWF/E

Consisting of many of the greatest wrestlers of an entire generation, as well as some of the current megastars in WWE, the Anoa’i family has given us stars to cheer for and continue to do so.

Starting with the WWF, the team of Sika and Afa formed the Wild Samoans, a team that ran through the whole tag team division of their time. They would go on to win the WWF Tag Team Champions thrice during their run.

After them, the first person in the family to hold the world title was Yokozuna. His feud with the head of another great wrestling family, Bret Hart, would lead them to the main event, WrestleMania IX and X. He also held the title on two separate occasions. And his feud with the Undertaker gave us one of the most iconic casket matches in history.
