Dwayne Johnson is arguably one of the most recognizable faces in the world today. Thanks to his short but impactful pro-wrestling career and Hollywood films, Johnson has attained a level of stardom that many aspire to. And not just the name, he has a purse measuring $800 million to go with it.

But at home, the 51-year-old abides by certain rules, which admittedly has helped him better his personal life. During an interview with renowned host Oprah Winfrey, The Rock revealed his secrets for other men to follow. Let’s find out Johnson’s mantra for success.

After a failed marriage, Dwayne Johnson took lessons from his mistakes to enhance his family time

Despite all his success, The People’s Champ’s life isn’t bereft of the occasional setbacks. Among the many he has had over the years is Johnson’s divorce from his first wife, Dany Garcia. The couple parted ways in 2008, after being married for a decade. That loss has taught him a valuable lesson.

Speaking to Oprah in 2020, Johnson said that the number one rule for a husband is to understand that he’s always wrong. “Remember that you’re usually wrong, number one. But, I would say, keywords to remember, yes honey, you’re right,” the 51-year-old said. When the laughter subsided, he imparted a serious tip.

“But listen, I would say that is, is, really listen. Like become a really good listener and it took me a long time to understand that and how important that was,” he added.

Johnson, who took over a decade to adjust before tying the knot for a second time and marrying longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian, said that becoming a good listener really helped him become more empathetic. “When you become more empathetic, then you just understand your wife and your partner on a deeper level, on a greater level, and then there’s a greater level of appreciation too as well,” Johnson said.

One can say that The Great One really practices what he preached. When he’s not busy doing work, we can see The Rock spending quality time with his family. He’s a doting dad of three and a loving husband. But despite that, his wife thanked him for an entirely different reason a few weeks ago.

Lauren Hashian thanks hubby for hitting a jackpot

Hashian, who is a musician and the mother of two of Johnson’s daughters, is seen accompanying her husband at times. They dated for a decade before getting hitched. And despite enjoying a good life with her husband and daughters, Hashian revealed that she is lucky to have another person in her life because of her husband.

In case you’re still wondering who that person is, it’s Ata Johnson, Dwayne’s mother. On Mother’s Day, Mrs. Dwayne Johnson left a post on social media thanking her mother-in-law. “And I hit the bonus mama jackpot with this one! She is pure love and joy. Happy Mother’s Day ATA!!,” Hashian wrote.
