On October 8, French YouTuber Squeezie hosted the first edition of the GP Explorer, a live F4 race from Le Mans that was streamed on Twitch. The event was a big success, with over a million spectators connected at the same time! Although some ridiculed the plan, the organizer received a surprise call from an international celebrity congratulating him, and it was definitely a big deal for the content creator.

And that FaceTime call has now been featured in a documentary on the Twitch star, a snippet of which recently surfaced on social media.

The Rock congratulates Squeezie

Indeed, while some people did not buy into the GP Explorer concept, claiming that Twitch was simply recycling what was already being done on television, Squeezie can boast of being praised by an American movie star. And not just anyone!

In a recent video uploaded on X, the French content creator could be seen being startled to receive a call from Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The actor contacted Squeezie via FaceTime to congratulate him for hosting the GP Explorer.

In the call, the Hollywood star praised the Twitch star’s name by saying, “I love the name Squeezie. That’s like a really cool f***ing name like the Rock.” He further added, “You’re a h*** of an influencer, keep your brand going, keep connecting with the people as you’re doing so. I look forward to meet you someday man, it’d be really cool”

Reflecting on the iconic moment, in a later interview, the Frenchman said that it was a very nice moment despite the bugs during the call, “It’s funny because it was buggy. It was so cool but it cut. In fact, it’s almost better to have experienced a buggy FaceTime with Dwayne Johnson than a FaceTime that goes very well.”

“He told me to keep doing a good job, and that it brought people together. It was really based on empowerment as a discourse. I can only imagine what it must be like to do a promo on the scale of The Rock. It must be too tiring but during the call he was smiling and everything, even though he must have been dead,” he added.

Squeezie should thank his lucky stars as well as the film Black Adam for providing him with the moment, as the film which starred The Rock sponsored the first edition of the GP Explorer. Warner Bros. was also pleased with the outcome and hence scheduled this virtual conference in conjunction with the film’s promotion.

This must’ve been a fantastic experience that Squeezie will remember for a long time. Enough to urge him to create a second edition of the GP Explorer. Whereas The Rock would sure be busy with his WWE return for now, but would we see him pulling off another fun interaction while promoting the live adaptation of Moana?
