Dwayne Johnson Candidly Exposed His Ex-WWE Colleagues by Confirming the Existence of Backstage Politics

One of the most influential celebrities around the globe, Dwayne Johnson had to face his own share of struggles during the early phase of his career. After a rapid growth in WWE, Johnson would change careers and join Hollywood, where he had to hustle a lot with politics, and his career before making it big.

Recently, Johnson appeared on Kevin Hart’s show and opened up about a lot of things, including the existence of backstage politics in WWE. Backstage politics in WWE was well rumored with several stars mentioning it however, it was recently confirmed by The Rock.

What did Dwayne Johnson claim about the existence of backstage politics?

Dwayne Johnson recently appeared on the latest episode of Kevin Hart’s ‘Hart to Heart’, where he opened up on a variety of topics. Johnson would even speak about his eldest daughter Ava Raine’s WWE career and how she wanted to join the business.

He said, “That was a special moment when my daughter Simone, my oldest daughter, said ‘I want to get into the business.’ What a great sense of pride as a father. But then, of course, as a parent you start to think about all the pitfalls and the trappings and all the hardships and all the s**t that I know she’s gonna go through because I’ve lived that business.”

Following the same tone, he also spoke about the existence of backstage politics in WWE, and how murky it is. Several superstars in WWE have been known for their infamous backstage politics often ruining the experience for other superstars.

Johnson continued, “There’s that underbelly in that world of pro wrestling. Just like being on the circuit when you’re coming up as a comedian playing all these small towns and all these small clubs and all that s**t that you gotta deal with. And backstage politics and all of that.”

Although Johnson spoke about the politics in WWE, he also mentioned the company came with its own fame, glam, and the stardom of WrestleMania. Despite having its own disadvantages of backstage politics, WWE also gave the performers a stage bigger than any other promotion.

Backstage politics is one of the most less talked about areas in pro wrestling. Several former stars in the business have been known for their cunning and shrewd approach to the business.

All the wrestlers in the promotion are looking forward to making their career, and backstage politics is a way to hold your spot. Names like Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash are often brought up when talking about politics behind the scenes.

These names have often favored their favorites or themselves. One prime example was when Kevin Nash with creative control chose to break Goldberg’s undefeated streak in WCW himself. Both Nash and Hogan were influential backstage figures in WCW.

Nevertheless, despite such politics, Ava Raine has started her career in WWE with Schism, and so far it has been a promising one.
