Did The Rock just lose credibility with his Roman Reigns statement? Fans are calling him a liar!

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returned to the WWE earlier this year to join the Board of Directors of TKO Group Holdings. In parallel to that, the legend also emerged as a centerpiece in the plans for WrestleMania XL. There, he was initially scheduled to fight Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. It was a dream match for many fans. However, the plans went for a toss as it suffered a last-minute change. Cody Rhodes was supported by a large sector of the fans in his goal of finishing his story. The decision to remove Rhodes from the title picture to the detriment of The Rock generated a climate of unrest and opposition.

And this led the company to radically change its plans. This resulted in a heel turn from the legend, ultimately becoming Road to WrestleMania’s highlight. Now, months after finishing his stint in WWE, and with Cody Rhodes finally the Universal Champion, the Brahma Bull has opened up on what went on behind the scenes after he was removed as the principal rival to Roman Reigns. In the latest WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary, the Rock has made a major claim that has fans calling him a liar.

The initial idea that The Rock’s team pitched for the Showcase of the Immortals revolved around the American Nightmare suffering an injury. Thus, getting him out of the title picture. And this would lead the Brahma Bull to take his place. Being the babyface against the Tribal Chief. In the documentary, The Rock claimed that when Cody Rhodes’ fans started the #WeWantCody movement; he did not want to upset any fans.

And that he easily accepted the change of bringing the former AEW star back into the title picture. The Hollywood star reiterated how he hates leaving fans disappointed. He said, “My gut says that I don’t like, even if it’s a segment of fans, I don’t like that they’re upset. And that really bugged the sh*t out of me”

However, the fans believe otherwise. They called out the People’s Champion for allegedly lying. According to several backstage reports, the Rock was actually upset about losing the spot. Many fans have also often called him out for stealing the limelight away from deserving superstars like CM Punk, despite fan support. So, taking to Twitter, they were quick to call him out for lying.

One member of the WWE Universe refused to believe Dwayne Johnson’s part of the story as they suggested that The Brahma Bull couldn’t stand getting booed as a babyface and reverted into a heel role to placate the fans’ desires.

Some fans suggested that The Rock’s ego suffered major damage and was lying in regards to his explanation as not to reveal his true colors.

While some fans also went as far as comparing him with Hulk Hogan. As Hogan is infamous for lying through his teeth to look like a good guy despite all the controversies and proofs of backstage politics.

Be that as it may, Rhodes was the one chosen to defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. However, Dwayne Johnson is expected to return to WWE soon and resume his rivalry with Cody Rhodes as he promised while parting ways after giving him a mystery gift. Subsequently, there is also speculation about the possibility that he will face Reigns, which would lead to the long-awaited fight between the two.
