When Dwayne Johnson was on tour for his heartfelt project, DCEU’s Black Adam, people saw promise in the movie becoming one of the best in the franchise’s history. But that hope vanished once the movie was released last year. People took vicious jabs and demeaned the movie for not breaking even at the box office.
Over 6 months after its release, Black Adam is in the conversation again. What must have happened that fans are once again shocked by Johnson’s first superhero adventure?

In light of The Flash’s poor opening weekend box office collection, a user named Kam Kenobi pointed out Black Adam’s commercial success. Despite not being able to break even at the box office, and being trolled for it, Dwayne Johnson’s movie is still the highest-grossing movie of the DCEU.
Since Black Adam’s release, the DCEU has released two movies, Shazam: Fury of the Gods and The Flash. While the former was not expected to break any records, the same cannot be said about the latter. Before its release, many publications and critics had talked about how The Flash has the potential to become one of the best comic book movies of all time.
I can't believe Black Adam is going to outgross every DC movie in 2023. WB should've let The Rock cook. pic.twitter.com/zMzcvDZbMD

But when The Flash finally hit the theatres, it left the fans divided. While some appreciated the movie for its highs, others were creeped out because of the CGI in the movie. But this information about Black Adam still remaining at the top when it comes to box office numbers is also dividing the fans about the movie, after over six months of its release.
Fans seem divided as Black Adam stands as the most profitable movie for DC since its release
The news about Black Adam certainly shocked a lot of people as fans flooded the comments section with their opinions. Much like the debate around this movie, the comments section was also divided. Despite The Rock putting his all into the movie, one fan found his acting “flat”.
I liked the film for the most part, but I don't think the Rock understood the character plus I felt like his acting was flat, felt like he was just the rock in black Adam cosplay.

The movie was fine. But they need to make billion dollar movies now to compete.
Black Adam and the rock probably return but under Gunn and with a better direction.

One fan expressed his disappointment with Black Adam for not having Shazam in it.
No thanks. A Black Adam with no Shazam is like eating a pizza with no cheese. Black Adam with no Big Red Cheese is disgusting. Sad Ha!

Meanwhile, one user believes that Black Adam’s storytelling could have been tweaked a little.
I didn’t love Black Adam but there was really some good stuff in there. Would maybe have done better at the Box office with some storytelling tweaks. Word of mouth probably hurt it

On the contrary, one user believes that Black Adam was a good movie. They also said that the after-credits scene is one of the best they have ever seen.
Black Adam honestly wasn’t bad at all. And the after credits scene was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Just sad it’ll lead nowhere

Somehow… He really changed the hierarchy of power in DC Universe.
