Dwayne Johnson is known for frequently interacting with his fans and for involving them in several activities over social media. Recently, however, this had turned into bad news as fans hit back at Johnson for the Maui Fundraiser.

The backlash was very intense and aggressive and Dwayne Johnson was heavily called out. However, the Brahma Bull is playing with fire once again. A recent social media post made by The Rock showcased him promoting another fundraiser. In fact, this second fundraiser request comes within just three months of the Maui fires.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has made a staggering career in both Hollywood and WWE which has paid him great dividends. Apart from his earnings from movies and wrestling, the 51-year-old has also started several businesses to expand his income streams. As per reports, Teremana is one of Johnson’s business ventures that sells tequilas and other drinks across the US.

The Rock recently made a post on Instagram where he announced and promoted a new fundraiser via Teremana. 

According to the caption of the post, “We’re proud to announce our ‘Mana for a Cause’ program, which helps those hard-working people and shows our endless gratitude for everything they do. @Teremana will donate $250,000 to @AnotherRoundAnotherRally, a nonprofit that supplies emergency assistance and education resources to bar and restaurant workers across America”

The social media post comes as a great astonishment to many as his previous fundraising venture ended with bitter consequences. He faced terrible backlash from fans who called out the callous approach towards the issue and asked for money from regular folk.

Various people stood up and questioned why Johnson was fishing for money from people when he knew the economic situation of an average American. The Rock took note of these words and also offered a heartfelt apology for the same.

Dwayne Johnson apologizes after facing backlash for fundraising after Maui wildfires

Dwayne Johnson and Oprah Winfrey have launched an online relief fund, “The People’s Fund of Maui,” to aid wildfire victims in Hawaii. The duo added $10 million by themselves to encourage others to make donations as well. While both celebrities had good intentions, they chose the wrong way to seek help for their noble cause. 

Apologizing for this to his fans, Johnson said that he is aware that many Americans live from one paycheck to the next. He said that it is a harsh way of life and one is bound to get infuriated. It’s if somebody, especially somebody insanely rich, asks for that money.

Johnson also added that he had once lived this life himself, and thus, can empathize with the people’s reaction. He admitted that he could have been better and also said that he would take care of it in the future. Interestingly, the fundraiser this time aims for a fairly smaller target of $250,000 instead of the $1 million goal for Maui.
