Hulk Hogan is a benchmark name in the world of pro wrestling. The phenomenal superstar kind of dominated the industry for decades. He has put on an array of spectacular showdowns over the years. That said, the Hulkster is not free from some of his questionable antics. Recently, referee Earl Hebner spilled one from the list.
Someone who knows the pro wrestling business can hardly deny the fact that Hogan is eternal and is almost synonymous with the sport. Although Hulkmania remains the same fan favorite to date, his complicated and controversial past tarnished his legacy to some extent. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer once damaged a referee through a botched spot during his World Heavyweight Championship match against Andre the Giant back in 1998.

While Earl Hebner tried to imitate her late brother, Dave Hebner, Hogan went off script and sent him flying out of the ring. The man himself explained the incident while speaking on Road Trip After Hours with WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long and Mac Davis. Earl noted, ”When he picked me up and started running, in my mind I’m going ‘This ain’t the program, this ain’t what the hell we’ve been over’. And brother, he launched me and the only people that could have caught me would have been the people in the tenth row.”
” Brother, I thought I was going into space and then when I hit the floor, I crushed my rotator cuff in my shoulder. But I was so excited I didn’t realize how bad I was hurt right then.”, he concluded.
However, hope for seeing those reckless off-script spots doesn’t exist for us anymore, as the legend himself ruled out a potential return. However, the good part is he kept the door open for a grand retirement match in the future.
Former WWE personality slammed Hogan referring to his wish for a retirement match
There is no lie in the fact that Hogan has been a fan favorite throughout his career. But on the contrary, he never fell short of criticism as well. There are many in the business who believes the Hulkster is simply over-hyped.
The former top-tier star of the business recently ruled out his potential in-ring return due to his physical inability. But the 69-year-old didn’t rule out a retirement match. It seems like some former names aren’t happy about this.
Hogan has not competed in a WWE ring since SummerSlam 2006 and according to former WWE personality Dutch Mantel, he doesn’t even need to as nobody wants to see him wrestle anymore.
During the latest episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantel, the host asked him about Hogan’s potential return to the business. The former WWE name replied, ‘‘More like s**t. Who wants to see that? Nobody.”

However, needless to say, millions of fans are still waiting with bated breath to see Hogan having his last dance inside the squared circle, regardless of what Mantel opined.
