The WWE was founded in the 1980s, and since then it has established itself as the premier pro wrestling institution in the world. The sport has witnessed several storylines, thrills, characterization, etc. in order to reach the stature we hold it in. However, there have been many instances where an extremely shocking incident happened in the ring. One of which was recently disclosed by Kurt Angle via a social media post. The post was also special because it came on the 9th death anniversary of the legend, who revolutionized women’s wrestling. 

Mae Young joined WWF in 1999 and ever since then made a massive impact on the business due to her performances. However, on 14th January 2014, the WWE Universe lost Young at the age of 90. It’s been nine years since her saddening demise and the entire community gathered to remember and pay tribute to her. While doing so, Angle chose a unique way that revealed what were her last words to him.

In his Twitter post, King Kurt put out a video from the time when The Great Mae Young was 81 years old. Despite her age, she was in the ring provoking Angle. As a result, he gave the old lady an Angle Slam. Along with this video, the caption he attached was quite shocking. 

He wrote, “My rookie year…. Mae Young was 81 years old at the time. Before I went out to the ring, she said to me “drill me mother f#cker”. Lol. Mae was insane. Sweet lady though. #RIPMae

A ferocious statement like this, from an 80-year-old woman, is shocking to say the least. But The Queen has always done the unexpected. That is the reason she is still alive in everyone’s memory.

Mae Young’s had a fantastic WWE ring for over 11 years. Although she wrestled the last match of her life in 2010 at the age of 87. One would assume that a wrestler of this age cannot win a fight, but by proving everyone wrong, she did the unexpected. She faced Michelle McCool and Layla in the two-on-one bout and won it with all pride. 

After being a resilient wrestler for so long, she had to bid goodbye to the universe due to her prolonged battle with her health. However, the history of wrestling will miss its mark without mentioning her impact. Her journey taught young wrestlers how to be relevant for over 7 decades.
