Despite everything, The Scottish Psychopath ended up losing his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship again in Glasgow. Now, it turns out that his popularity in his home country didn’t just let him down in the ring, but also out of it.

There was a recent private signing for WWE stars in Scotland. Reports from some Fightful sources revealed that McIntyre wasn’t the only popular wrestler in the UK that weekend, but CM Punk also did well among fans.

CM Punk hijacks Drew McIntyre’s popularity

Time and again, CM Punk has done his best to snatch away McIntyre’s shot at winning a title. First, it happened at WrestleMania XL as the ex-AEW star was jealous of The Scottish Psychopath for winning the championship. Now, Glasgow witnessed another interference from Punk’s end that resulted in McIntyre getting robbed of his victory. Sean Ross Sapp reported on Patreon, “A source close to Fanatics indicated to us that Cody Rhodes had a private signing recently that resulted in 500 belts being sold almost immediately. He was also the top talent seller in Scotland.” He also added, “I’m told that CM Punk also did very well over there.

Although the sources didn’t reveal anything about how McIntyre did in Scotland during the signing, there’s a possibility that he was also among the top names. However, he wasn’t mentioned because two non-Scottish top stars pipped his popularity too.

The former WWE Champion wasn’t the only one who walked out of the arena disappointed, his opponent also lost the convenience of walking with ease.

Damian Priest may have to pull off a CM Punk on fans

The Best in the World returned to WWE after a long time, only to go back on a hiatus because of a tricep injury. And now, in Glasgow, Damian Priest also suffered an injury during the main event match. There was a spot where Priest was set to launch himself out of the ring over at Drew McIntyre, who was standing in front of the announcer’s table.

However, his leg entangled in the ropes, causing him to fall upside down while still being stuck in that position in mid-air. It appears that the botch might have given him an injury to worry about as reports revealed that there were discussions about the same. So, even though surgery may not be needed, he may need some time off the squared circle to feel better, as CM Punk is doing now.
