The ending of Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland, surely created a lot of reactions around it. Truly making it a memorable night. The WWE PLE ended with CM Punk‘s interference in Drew McIntyre‘s title match, costing the Scottish Warrior the victory against Damian Priest for the heavyweight championship in his native Glasgow.

This drew major reactions from the home crowd as they booed the Cult of Personality. However, one opinion that sounded the loudest after the match was that of Wade Barrett. The commentator aimed for The Best in the World and his appearance at the OVO Hydro. Calling it the biggest disaster in history on the PLE post-show. Barrett further called it a bigger betrayal than Bret Hart’s. And that the entire industry has come under a shadow thanks to CM Punk’s actions.

But he did not stop there. He further added that the WWE authorities should fire CM Punk.

Taking further aim at the higher-ups, he asked them to show that they have the balls to do whatever it takes to fix the Punk situation. Truly strong words from a commentator. But what if it is all a buildup for a future storyline? Well, at least that’s what it looks like to many, as the WWE might decide to turn Wade Barrett into a manager for Drew McIntyre.

WWE creatives might plan a new run for King Barrett

Despite not being medically cleared to be in contact with any wrestler, CM Punk has still managed to have his say on the title scene involving the Heavyweight Championship. And now, it seems like Wade Barrett has had enough of it. After taking severe shots at Punk during the post-show, he surely became the talk of the WWE Universe. We rarely get to see such anger on the commentary table.

And the guys at the Busted Open Podcast noticed this as well. They believe that King Barrett might become a manager for Drew McIntyre. And all this was a buildup to that. They said, “I don’t know if Wade Barrett is going to align himself with Drew McIntyre. It’s almost like Wade Barrett was a manager in there, because I’ve never heard that strong a commentary from Wade Barrett ever behind the mic. The way he was fired up to the point where Corey and Michael were silent, listening to Wade Barrett just pound the pulpit talking about how CM Punk needs to be fired. That he keeps interfering in these matches.” They further added how it could all be linked to the Nexus storyline. CM Punk took over the group after it disbanded, and Wade Barrett was left to fend for himself again on the WWE roster.

“It’s almost like Wade Barrett still got that bitterness from his, from his Nexus days against CM Punk. I feel like it’s almost a throwback to that. I have never heard that kind of commentary from Wade Barrett going against CM Punk. He wants him out of the company based on what he did to Drew McIntyre. So there’s a kinship there between the two.”

Barrett even ranted against WWE COO Triple H. He felt it was ridiculous that the COO invited the Cult of Personality to the press conference and had a candid interview with questions discussing softball. And while he does respect HHH, he disagrees with the COO’s feelings toward Punk. The Game claimed that he was excited to work with CM Punk. So maybe we can get to see Nexus 3.0 with Drew McIntyre now? What do you think? Will Barrett become a manager? Let us know in the comments.
