Drew McIntyre has defied the odds to become a two-time WWE Champion just days before Survivor Series. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ engaged in a brutal war with Randy Orton for the WWE Championship on Raw and emerged victorious.

After a long-standing Championship program with Orton, it seemed highly unlikely that he would win back his championship that quick, but he did!

What does the WWE Championship mean to Drew McIntyre?

In a post-match WWE Network Exclusive Interview, host Sarah Schreiber asked McIntyre how he feels on holding the WWE Championship again?

He answered, ”Every time I hear, ‘Drew McIntyre, WWE Champion,’ it never gets old. It feels like the first time, every time I guess, this is technically the second time I’ve held the title and I feel exactly the same as I did winning it the first time. And the only thing that makes it that much sweeter is defeating Randy Orton after everything we’ve been through, after everything he put me through personally, after everybody attacked for, after taking my title from me at Hell In A Cell, this felt pretty freaking good. I don’t even know the words. It’s hard to find the words, but I’m just feeling really, really good right now.”

Drew McIntyre’s victory over Randy Orton for the WWE Championship on last night’s Raw is only the second time in 5 years that the WWE Championship has changed hands on an episode of Monday Night Raw. The last time it happened was in December 2015, when Roman Reigns defeated Sheamus to win his second WWE Championship.

Top Guy vs The Guy

Last night’s victory means it will now be WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, squaring off against Universal Champion Roman Reigns at Survivor Series. WWE planted the seeds of these two megastars colliding against each other this past Friday Night on SmackDown. Never did we think it would come so soon!

Roman Reigns has been on another level ever since making his return at SummerSlam. Drew McIntyre has had an extraordinary year altogether. Picking a winner between these two is surely difficult. No matter who walks out victorious at Survivor Series, both men will definitely take battle scars home.
