Drew McIntyre defeated Randy Orton and retained his WWE Championship at Clash of Champions. Although he had some help from “familiar faces,” McIntyre could not be happier with the outcome. However, it seems like the rivalry is far from over.
The last episode of Monday Night Raw started with a ‘legendary’ segment. WWE Universe saw legends Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, and Christian make their return to the red brand. The previous night at the PPV, they had helped McIntyre against Orton.
They were on Raw to celebrate McIntyre’s win and the demise of Orton. However, their celebrations were cut short as a disguised Randy Orton attacked all four of them in the legends lounge. Randy disappeared into the dark as everyone ran to help the downed legends.

This was one of the coolest moments of my career. Nothing over the top, 100% real & an opportunity to recognize those who helped me become the Champion I am today….and now it’s tainted.

Drew McIntyre thanked WWE icons on Raw
In the video shared by the champion, we see how he thanks each and every one of the legends. He never expected them to be there for him. Furthermore, he calls Big Show a “big brother” and thanks him for being there during the tough times.
McIntyre thanks Shawn Michaels for being his mentor since the NXT Days. When he came to Ric Flair, he revealed how awe-struck he was when he came to WWE and met Flair. The fact that he shared the same locker room with the Nature Boy baffled him.

In the end, he thanked Randy Orton because he brought all of them back together. He concluded by saying that after the “war,” he still stands as the WWE Champion.
Seeing his respect for the legends, it is only normal that Drew McIntyre is furious after the attack. WWE is probably booking Orton vs McIntyre for Hell in a Cell. If that is really the case, we hope they throw someone else in the mix because fans are tired of seeing the two brawling since SummerSlam.
