There is a certain amount of stretch to an elastic, and after that, it starts to lose its quality. But, it seems like that rule doesn’t apply to The Nature Boy Ric Flair. The 73-year-old Golden Stallion fought the final pro wrestling match of his career on July 31st, 2022. Flair finally hung up his boot after spending 50 years in pro wrestling. Or did he?
Meanwhile, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat announced his return to pro wrestling at the age of 69. Steamboat was one of the esteemed wrestlers from the 90s. The Dragon had performed in various promotions over the years of his wrestling career. The WWE Hall of Famer retired from pro wrestling in 2010. The Dragon is set to make his in-ring return after 12 years in Raleigh, North Carolina, on November 27th.

But, it looks like Ric Flair also got hyped after hearing the news of Ricky Steamboat. During the AdFreeShows.com podcast, Ric Flair expressed his desire to make another comeback. “Steamboat coming back makes me want to come back again. I went back up to Lincoln and started training again. What else is there to do?” said Flair.
It seems like retirement doesn’t suit Slick Ric that much. He also praised Ricky Steamboat and even compared him with today’s pro wrestlers. “At every level, he’s better than 50% of the guys in the business today.”
Fans react to Ric Flair’s potential return
The Naitch believes in his potential to wrestle again, but the fans of Ric Flair were not happy after he teased his comeback into the ring. The fans expressed their opinions under Ric Flair’s tweet.
Please no. You barely made it through your last match in Nashville. We don’t want to see you die in the ring.

People are worried that it would not be suitable for Ric Flair to wrestle once again at this age.
Please. No. Nobody wants to see you die in the ring, even if that’s your wish

How many times are you going to disrespect the fans by doing so? You cannot claim to love your fans & swear it's your last match ever, only to try to milk them with the same gimmick again and again. Just stop it. Or at least admit that you treat your fans as nothing but marks!

Some people think it would disrespect Ric Flair’s fans if he returned to the ring.
That’s completely understandable but, at some point he needs to understand that if he keeps doing it, he is going to get seriously injured or even die in the ring.
It’s more of a concern for his safety than it is about him disrespecting anything.— . (@TheOneMan2001) September 21, 2022
Obviously, people have different opinions on Flair’s statement.
Ric… we love you dude your a living legend but you gotta know when to stop for your own health and to protect your legacy

when you said on your pod, “because what else is there to do” honestly that was pretty sad. Please do not get back in the ring. You passed out twice in the last one please do not risk your body.

In general, the fans seem concerned about the health of Nature Boy.
Just NO @RicFlairNatrBoy. There is no doubt you're a living legend and there is no doubt that you're one of the best, the best to lace up a pair of boots but there is no doubt that any of your fans or family wants to see you die in the squared circle. Truth with love Natch.

It seems the fans’ support for Flair is losing its elasticity. Even though most of his fans are concerned about his health, it doesn’t look like he will be receiving much of a crowd like last time, if he wrestles again. Do you think the Slick Ric can keep fighting in the ring?
