It is no secret that pro wrestling matches have fixed outcomes. However, that doesn’t stop mishaps from happening. There have been matches in the past where pro-wrestlers have performed impromptu after being legitimately injured during the event. However, certain injuries leave no room for an alternative ending. A former WWE Champion, who suffered a major health scare during a match in 2022, has now provided a positive update, much to fans’ delight.

Big E says he has no functional issues as he discusses the injury and his pro-wrestling future

Big E suffered a broken neck after directly landing on his head during a match on 11th March 2022. The injury was a result of a suplex gone wrong. The former WWE Champion has been out of in-ring action since.

However, he gave a positive update about his health during a chat with the hosts of Battleground Podcast. The 37-year-old said he needs to sit down with doctors and figure out his next step, adding, “…but from my perspective, I feel great. I have no functional issues, no pain issues. I’ve been in the gym since two weeks after I broke my neck. I’m feeling great.”

“I’m really grateful for all of that. Obviously, your neck has to be in a certain condition to deal with the rigors of being in the ring on a nightly basis,” The New Day member added.

Several fans said they were happy with the update, but also asked the WWE superstar to recuperate fully.

This user reminded Big E of Kurt Angle and the latter’s neck injury.

Another used an old adage to drive home the point.

Fans also shared storylines for the superstar and demanded a better run.

Meanwhile, Big E has now announced a new gig that will see him expand his territory outside pro-wrestling.

USFL’s Michigan Panthers names the former WWE star as its in-game host for home matches

The injury has proved to be bittersweet for the 285 lbs WWE superstar. While on one hand, it has kept him out of in-ring action, on the other, he now has an opportunity to dabble in a new role and show off his mic skills.

Big E is admittedly an American football fan. So, it is no surprise that when the Michigan Panthers approached him; he said yes. While the WWE superstar will not be passing and kicking the ball, he’ll welcome Panthers fans at Ford Field. The USFL team has signed Big E as its new home game emcee.
