In the Survivor Series of 2022, there have been many thrilling encounters between wrestlers. One of those was the match between Ronda Rousey and Shozi, after which Rousey was highly blamed. However, there’s rare support coming from a former wrestler Dutch Mantell for the Rowdy. In his podcast, Mantell explained in detail how Rousey botched a DDT against Shotzi. Despite her winning, not many were happy about it. Most of them blamed Rowdy for all the mishaps.

The multiple botches by Rousey disheartened the fans, but Mantell’s take on it might clarify a few more things.

Dutch Mantell supporting Ronda Rousey for her Survivor Series botched moves

In their match in Survivor Series: War Games, both Shotzi and Rousey were fighting for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. During the wrestle, Shotzi went ahead and tried to deliver an over-the-top DDT to the Baddest Woman on The Planet. However, Rousey held the rope and, as a result, Shotzi landed clumsily. This move from Rowdy looked like a botched move, for which the fans got upset.

However, in Story Time with Dutch Mantell, he explained the entire scenario that might have happened. Further, he detailed what went wrong between the wrestlers. He also took Ronda’s side while describing everything. According to him, it wasn’t a botched move. His contrasting thought was that a move like Shotzi’s should be talked about before.

He said, “I wouldn’t call this a botch because you only call a botch in what was intended to happen. Shotzi thought she’s going to DDT Ronda and Ronda had no intention of being DDTed to the mat outside. She held that top rope the whole time and when she went down she just held it so Shotzi took the bump in the floor.”

“I don’t blame Ronda. I mean if there’s anybody to be blamed it’s Shotzi,” he added.

Mantell reflected upon Rousey’s Mistakes

While describing the fight, Mantell also reflected upon the 35-year-old wrestler’s mistake. He mentioned that if Ronda did not want Shotzi to do anything to her, she should’ve dealt with it like that. For example, she could have poked her eye or something to just stop her.

Here, Rousey went wrong by going ahead without stopping her. In Mantell’s words, “both ended up laying there like two leftover steaks thrown out around the butcher shop and you couldn’t use them anymore.”
